A good quality Nepalese sacrificial axe Ram Da'o
A good quality Nepalese sacrificial axe Ram Da'o, 19th century. The heavy down turned single edged blade is extensively inlaid with brass including inscriptions B.C.K. GUPATI an Indian inscription and devices including the seeing eyes, geometric roundels, ornamental borders and back edge with red filled dotted circles. The handle has a swollen bone grip and brass mounts. Good patina overall.
