Description:
A scarce Indian bayonet Sangin, for a matchlock gun, 17th or 18th century, slender blade chiselled with raised foliate rib, thickened tip, forte chiselled with an iris flower. The blade issues from the mouth of a Makarra which is nicely chiselled in the round, extended arms for lashing to the barrel.
