A silver mounted Nepalese or Indian Kukri
A silver mounted Nepalese or Indian Kukri, blade with random decoration. Bone grip with silver pommel. In its leather covered sheath, with heavy silver mounts, top mount (locket) pierced and deeply chiselled with a pair of stylised dragons together with flowers and foliage. Bottom mount (chape) deeply chiselled with foliage, and engraved “A.W.Davis N.H.M.P. 14TH FEBRUARY 1908”. Back pockets contain a pair of bone handled companion knives and a horn handled chuk muk (tinder lighter). Provenance: Robin Braid Taylor Collection.
