An Indian dagger Kard
An Indian dagger Kard, 1st ½ of the 19th Century, blade of finely watered dark steel (Qum, gravel meander), well defined pattern, good polished surface. Bone grips, grip strap and ferrules thickly gold damascened (Koftgari) with foliage and geometric borders. In its green stained ass skin covered sheath with silver mounts including facetted suspension lug, small fluted bud shaped tip; the seam covered with silver tape and wire binding.
