A Persian dagger kard
A Persian dagger kard, c. 1800, blade of finely watered steel (Qum gravel meander), probably Khara Khorassan, the surface of dark brown colour, sides slightly concave. Grip made from sections of walrus ivory, gripstrap and shoulders of forte gold damascened with foliate design. In its ass skin covered sheath with raised ribs.
