Description:
A very unusual boxlock flintlock pocket pistol by Sikes of Melford c 1800, engraved overall with Masonic symbols. Turn off 40 bore barrel, signed at the breech. The frame and trigger guard are nicely engraved with symbols of Freemasonry. The pan is slightly raised, the sliding safety catch locks the frizzen to the fence in the closed position; the frizzen has twin anti-friction rollers. Walnut grip with gold escutcheon. Pistols with Masonic decoration are exceedingly rare.
