A very small Ceylonese (Sinhalese) knife Piha Kaetta
A very small Ceylonese (Sinhalese) knife Piha Kaetta, 18th century. The blade is partly overlaid with silver chiselled with foliage upon a punched ground. The silver ferrule is chiselled with foliage (some mounts missing). Two piece grips are made of black coral carved with plumage. Contained in its wooden sheath with large silver top mount, fluted and decorated with filigree.
