An unusual Lowland Scottish dress dirk
An unusual Lowland Scottish dress dirk by F.A. Lyon of Edinburgh c 1850. The tapered polished blade of shallow diamond section is stamped with the maker “F.A. Lyon 50 Leith Street Edinburgh”. The hilt is made from the antler of a roe deer. Contained in its brown leather sheath with nickel mounts, the locket is fitted with a bar for the belt. Some small patches of staining to blade.
