A Japanese sword Ko-Tachi
A Japanese sword Ko-Tachi, 19th century. The blade is signed YASUTSUGU, ubu nakago, deep koshi-sori, itame-hada,fair polish. There is some opening of grain (kizu), and the hamon is not tempered. Shakudo ishime tachi mounts, copper tsuba with dai-seppa, silver covered habbaki, tape bound same tsuka, with gilt menuki as catfish (?). The saya is lacquered with gold nashiji and fitted with loose armour leather hangers, sageo and silk storage bag.
