An English silver hilted smallsword made for a boy
An English silver hilted smallsword made for a boy, hall marked for London, 1731. The hilt is chased overall in relief with male and female busts in contemporary style, those on the shellguard have martial trophies behind, those on the remainder of the hilt with foliate background. Fitted with a silver wire bound grip, the hollow ground triangular section blade is inlaid with geometric devices in brass.
