A French russet gilt hilted small-sword
A French russet gilt hilted small-sword by Dumont c 1754-1760. The hilt chiselled with oval cartouches containing single flowers, together with bows, ribbons, foliage and flowers, and incorporating a pierced lattice work filled with flower heads. The grip is bound with silver wire and tape, with woven turk’s heads. The hollow ground triangular section blade is signed “Dumont. Md Fourbissr a La Justice Sur Le Pont St Michel a Paris” and etched with foliage and rococo ornament.
