A scarce Indian powder flask
A scarce Indian powder flask made from a chinkarra or gayal’s horn, c 1800. Turned ivory nozzle carved with radiating petals. Sprung brass charger lever with pierced suspension loop. Good colour and age patina overall. See G.C. Stone “A Glossary of the Construction, Decoration and Use of Arms and Armour” New York 1934 Fig 660 No 16 for an identical flask.
