A very unusual British or French wooden powder flask, second half of the 18th Century. The flattened pear shaped body of distinctly coloured and grained hardwood with the owner’s initial “A” engraved on a silver roundel on both faces. Brass mounts with simple punched decoration, 4 short brass cylinders for a suspension cord. Brass charger with brass fixed measuring cap. Excellent age patina overall.
