Description:
A percussion holster pistol by Williams and Powell of Liverpool, c 1840-1845. The heavy 22 bore barrel with a top flat engraved Liverpool, fitted with open sights and a swivel ramrod, and inlaid with twin platinum breech lines. The signed lock is fitted with a safety bolt and engraved with foliage en-suite with the steel trigger guard. The walnut fullstock has a rounded chequered grip, and a vacant nickel escutcheon. Note: The partnership of Thomas Williams and Samuel Powell lasted until 1846, and they are recorded working at 29, South Castle Street, Liverpool
