A rare Indian silver match holder for igniting a cannon
A rare Indian silver match holder for igniting a cannon, probably Gujerati (possibly from Bhuj) c.1800. The heavy cylindrical tube deeply embossed with flowering foliage and 3 raised roped bands against a ring punched ground. The bunched cotton tow match is secured to the silver stopper which itself is retained by a silver chain.
