A good scarce Marathan gauntlet sword Pata, 17th century. The European (Firangi) blade is cut with a full length fuller. The iron gauntlet hilt retains traces of silver foil overlay, and is pierced, embossed and chiselled overall with flowers and foliage in geometric order. A rich russet patina is retained overall.
