An Indian thrusting dagger katar c 1800. The robust blade made from finely watered oriental damascus steel, with thickened point and raised ribs. The hilt is decorated with gold koftgari (damascened) decoration in the form of flowers and foliage within wavy bands. There is some wear to the gold decoration.
