A good Elizabeth II 1897 pattern Royal Marines officer's sword. The blade by Wilkinson Sword Co Ltd London, number 70976 (for 1953) is etched with the crowned Royal Arms and EIIR, The Royal Marines with regimental badge all within foliage. Regulation plated guard and chequered gripstrap, leather dress knot. The grip is covered with fish skin and bound with woven silver wire. In its field service brown leather scabbard, with frog and brown leather sword belt. Retaining nearly all original finish overall. Complete with its leather sword bag and details of original owner.
