A good 1821 pattern Artillery Volunteer officer's sword
A good 1821 pattern Artillery Volunteer officer's sword of Captain Robert Marquis, 1st Lancashire (Liverpool) Artillery Volunteers, 1866. The blade is etched and mirror polished with ARTILLERY VOLUNTEERS together with regimental devices, foliage, and owner "Robert Marquis" within banner. Regulation steel triple bar guard and chequered gripstrap. The grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire. In its steel dress scabbard with twin hanging rings. The blade retains nearly all its original mirror polish.
