Description:
An 1827 pattern Victorian officer's sword of the London Rifle Brigade. The picquet weight blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, No 12421 is etched and polished with the crowned VR cypher and regimental title amidst foliage, together with the owner's crest and initials J.E.P.. The steel hilt and chequered gripstrap of regimental pattern. The grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire. Contained in its steel dress scabbard.

Notes:
Wilkinsons confirm that this sword was built 4.4.1863 and sold to J. E. Pawson. John Ellerton Pawson became a Captain in the London Rifle Brigade 21.3.1860.
