Description:
A Victorian 1845 pattern Infantry officer's sword. The blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London, No 17144, is etched with a crowned VR amidst scrolling foliage, together with the owner's crest and initials D.S. The brass guard and gripstrap of regulation pattern, the grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted copper wire. Contained in its steel scabbard which has been covered in brown leather for field service.
