An 1821 pattern Light Cavalry officer's undress sword. The blade by Bryan, Price & Co, Dacre St, Westminster (faint) is etched with crowned VR cyphers amidst scrolling foliage, together with "W. ALEXANDER ROYAL BERKSHIRE YEOY" (cavalry) within scrolls. Regulation steel guard and gripstrap, the grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted copper wire. Contained in its steel dress scabbard. Dark age patina overall.

The makers are recorded at 8 & 9 Dacre Street from 1837 to 1857.
