A Victorian Royal Artillery officer's sword. The blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London No 23052 is etched and polished with the crowned Royal Arms, VR cypher, regimental title and devices amidst scrolling foliage, together with the owner's crest and initials J.H.E.N. The steel guard and chequered gripstrap of regulation pattern, the grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire. Contained in its steel scabbard.
