A First World War 1897 Infantry officer's sword. The blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London No 52393 (manufactured 1914-1917) is etched with the crowned Royal Arms and GVR cypher amidst scrolling foliage. The plated guard and chequered gripstrap of regulation pattern, the grip covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire. Contained in its field service leather scabbard.
