A good Edward 7th (1901-1910) 1897 pattern Infantry officer's sword. The blade by Hulme & Son, 16 John Dalton St, Manchester, nicely etched and mirror polished with the crowned EVIIR cypher and laurel wreath within scrolling foliage, and sharpened for field service. The steel guard and chequered grip strap of regulation pattern. The grip covered with fishskin and bound with twisted silver wire. Leather dress knot. Contained in its steel scabbard. The blade retains nearly all of its original polish.
