A Georgian naval Warrant officer's sword c 1825-1832. The fullered blade retains faint etched crowned fouled anchor and trophy of arms on one side, the other side is lightly pitted. The regulation gilt brass hilt retains much of its original gilding, is crudely engraved twice with an owner's initals W.C., the langets are chiselled in relief with fouled anchors. The grip is covered with black fishskin, and bound with plain and twisted copper wire.
