Description:
An 1827 pattern Rifle officer's sword. The piquet weight blade by Henry Wilkinson, Pall Mall, London No 17557 is etched and polished with the crowned VR cypher, strung bugle and laurel wreath amidst scrolling foliage. The regulation steel guard with crowned strung bugle, the grip is covered with fishskin and is bound with twisted silver wire. Contained in its steel dress scabard.

Notes:
Wilkinsons confirm that this Rifle sword Dress was supplied on 8.4.1871. Although no name is mentioned it is almost certainly the sword of H.S. Marsham (60th Rifles - KRRC) being in identical condition with, and purchased by me simultaneously with sword No 580
