A rare 1827 pattern officer's sword of the Demerara Rifles. The regulation blade with maker's poincon W.B. is etched with the crowned VR cypher and DEMERARA RIFLES within banners around a strung bugle, all within scrolling foliage. Regulation German silver hilt with crowned strung bugle, the grip is covered with fishskin and bound with twisted coper wire. Contained in its black painted steel dress scabbard.
