An Afghan sword "Khyber Knife"
An Afghan sword "Khyber Knife", 19th century. The "T" section blade of finely watered oriental damascus steel (wootz) and cut with narrow fullers. Steel ferrules and gripstrap, the two piece horn grips carved with horizontal ribs. Contained in its ass skin covered scabbard, the seam sewn with silver tape and wire, engraved brass chape, the top wound with cotton fabric.
