A good Omani sword Shamshir
A good Omani sword Shamshir, late 18th or early 19th century. The blade cut with a broad fuller and a narrow intermittent fuller and of watered damascus steel showing a clear meandering pattern, the blade double edged at the swollen tip. Steel crosspiece, the silver grip and pommel chiselled with flowering foliage, the silver gripstrap decorated with fine wirework, large silver pommel ring.
