A good German or Austrian cavalry officer's sword c 1860. The regulation polished blade is fullered on one side and flat on the other, and stamped SOLINGEN W & ST, EISENHAUER. The regulation steel guard is pierced with honeysuckle pattern. The grip is covered with fishskin (the grip wire is missing). This sword is preserved with an old coat of dried oil. No scabbard.
