An Austrian Model 1869 cavalry trooper's sword. The blade is stamped with the maker's device of Clemens & Jung, together with the model indicator 69 beneath a lion rampant, and the regimental initial A.4. The regulation steel guard is stamped with the unit GH16? 51, the grip is covered with leather. Contained in its steel scabbard, stamped G.E.H.r. 67. This sword is preserved in excellent condition beneath an old coat of dried oil.
