A George Vth courtsword for an Irish County Lieutenant. The blade is etched and mirror polished with a martial trophy and shamrocks within scrolling foliage. The gilt brass hilt of regulation pattern incorporating the crowned Royal cypher above laurel in silver, and a pierced crown pommel. The grip is bound with twisted silvered wires. Original crimson and gold bullion dressknot. Contained in its black leather scabbard with gilt brass mounts, and retaining its black oilskin sword bag. The blade retains nearly all its original polish, and the hilt nearly all its gilding.
