A Belgian boxlock flintlock pocket pistol
A Belgian boxlock flintlock pocket pistol or "pochette à l'Anglaise" inscribed SEGALLAS LONDON, c 1770. The signed action is engraved with martial trophies, the sliding trigger guard locks the frizzen to the fence, the rifled barrel unscrews for loading. The figured walnut butt is inlaid with scrolling silver wire.

these pistols, most frequently of all metal construction, were built in Liege presumably to capitalise on the reputation of London for the excellence of their production.
