A good 19th Century Sudanese Mahdist period mace combined with a trousse of 2 daggers. The steel mace of Persian manufacture is embossed in the form of a bull's head and decorated with silver damascene. The steel haft, dagger hilts and sheath are all covered with the skin of a monitor lizard and the dagger blades are etched with Arabic inscription in Thuluth script. Good age patina.
