A scarce Indian bronze mace head
A scarce Indian bronze mace head, 16th Century. Cast as a hollow flask, engraved with a horizontal band of guilloche, with 17 segments above divided by raised ribs, and 19 segments below similarly divided. The top is surmounted by a small knop and the neck has 2 bands of raised reinforcing ribs. Good excavated patina.
