A rare Bentley's patent breech loading percussion rifle by Manton & Co, Calcutta. The octagonal twist barrel is cut with 18 groove rifling, and slides forward for loading by use of the underlever system, stamped with London proof marks and the bore size 64, engraved MANTON & CO CALCUTTA with 2 leaf rearsights. The back action lock is signed MANTON & CO and engraved with scrolling foliage en-suite with the steel furniture. Figured walnut stock chequered at the grip.
