A good 1845 pattern Infantry officer’s sword
A good 1845 pattern Infantry officer’s sword by Hamburger Rogers & Co, King Street, Covent Garden, London. The regulation blade is nicely etched with the crowned VR cipher amidst scrolling foliage and retains nearly all of its original polish. The regulation guard retains much of its original gilding and incorporates a folding sideguard, the pierced crowned VR cipher above the union flowers, and the patent leather liner, the grip is covered with black fishskin and is bound with copper wire. Contained in its brass dress scabbard.
