A Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) dagger Pia Kaetta
A Ceylonese (Sri Lankan) dagger Pia Kaetta, 18th Century. The blade is chiselled with foliate and geometric ornament and partly covered with sheet silver. The silver hilt mount is chiselled with stylised plumage en-suite with the carved black coral grips, and the pommel has a finely chased silver cap separate silver sides. Contained in its fluted ebony sheath with silver top.
