An unusual Anglo-Sumatran dagger kris
An unusual Anglo-Sumatran dagger kris, probably made for a naval officer c 1800, wavy watered steel (pamor) blade. Silver cup, ivory hilt carved in the form of a stylised seated Garuda. In its nicely grained wooden sheath, the stem cover of gilt copper made by a Georgian cutler engraved with foliate swags, two hanging loops in the form of serpents.
