A good and unusual silver mounted Assamese sword Dao
A good and unusual silver mounted Assamese sword Dao, probably Naga, c 1800. The heavy single edged blade swells towards the tip. The hilt is silver mounted with central band of finely woven and lacquered fibres, the pommel is inset with a tuft of red dyed goat’s hair. Good age patina
Blade length 25¼” (64.5cms) Overall length 33¼” (84.3cms)
