A Persian dagger kard
A Persian dagger kard, late 18th Century. The blade is forged from fine Oriental Damascus steel with a well defined Qum pattern, the back edge is chiselled and the bolster is inlaid with gold flowers, foliage and borders. The lower gripstrap is gold damascened, the upper gripstrap and pommel strap are plain and the dagger is fitted with a pair of walrus ivory grips.
