An unusual Indian or Nepalese silver mounted kukri
An unusual Indian or Nepalese silver mounted kukri, c 1870. The swollen blade of traditional form is cut with 3 narrow fullers. The silver hilt mounts include a most unusual crosspiece and are all engraved with flowers and foliage en-suite with the silver sheath mounts. The large grip is carved from a single piece of staghorn, and it is contained in its black leather sheath. Good age patina.
