A silver mounted dagger janbiyya from northern Yemen
A silver mounted dagger janbiyya from northern Yemen, late 19th century. The curved blade with raised central ribs. The horn hilt has silver mounts and the front of the grip is studded with small iron nails. Contained in its large silver sheath with elaborate filigree decoration.
Blade length 8½” (21.5cms) Overall length 12¾” (32.5cms)
