A good brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss
A good brass barrelled flintlock blunderbuss by William Lowe of London 1796-1803. The brass barrel with bell mouth and turned reinforces, London Gunmaker’s Company proof marks, maker’s mark WL, and engraved LONDON. The stepped lock plate is signed and fitted with a sliding safety bolt and a roller bearing frizzen spring. Brass mounts include an acorn finialled trigger guard. Walnut fullstock, the wooden ramrod is fitted with a horn tip and steel worm. Excellent patina overall.
